Diamond Certifications

When buying jewelry, you want to be sure that you make the best purchase. The jewelry world may seem complex and the offer is so great that it is sometimes easy to loose your way. One way to be really sure of our purchase is to opt for certifications. All Canadian Diamonds St-Onge are accompanied by a certificate of authenticity issued by CanadaMark as well as a report issued by the GIA.

The GIA report

Each diamond is unique with its own, very distinct characteristics! To make the best purchase, you must know all the details of the stone. At St-Onge, all our diamonds are sold with a certificate issued by theGIA. The GIA (Gemological Institute of America) is the most renowned laboratory in the world for the classification of diamonds and the identification of precious stones. Recognized for their objectivity and expertise, the GIA guarantees the integrity and precision of each report issued.

The GIA report gives the complete description of the diamond, including its colour, its weight, its dimensions and its cutting style. The GIA number is engraved on the belt of each diamond.

The Canadamark card

CanadaMark certified natural diamonds are responsibly mined in the Northwest Territories of Canada. All mines participating in the CanadaMark program must meet Canada's strict environmental regulations, and many of them even go beyond. CanadaMark prides itself on their transparency throughout the mining process. In fact, all CanadaMark diamonds are independently tracked at every stage, from the mine of origin to the polished stone. CanadaMark diamonds are a promise of purity, responsibility and authenticity.

Each diamond features a micro laser inscription giving you confidence in its origin and history.

The appraisal certificate

An appraisal certificate for insurance purposes is offered to you with any jewelry purchase. This certificate describes in detail the purity of the gold, the stone(s) used as well as their weight, clarity and colour and finally the replacement value in the event of loss or theft.

The certificate is written by one of our diamond experts with the St-Onge seal. Providing this certificate to your insurance company will give you peace of mind.
